"We have a Shelby CS8 :) Phenomenal piece of Shelby history as this CS8 is a prototype built by Hillbanks with Shelby concent. Capable of 1050 HP but now dialed back to a moderate 500HP. A list of the options and features are listed but it bears noting that the dash has been signed by Carrol Shelby and the dash also has Shelby CS8 Prototype Dash Plaque. The seats are custom leather. It might be a Prototype but that was no reason to forgo a little style and comfort.
History of the Shelby CS6 and CS8
In 2005 while Shelby was just beginning their current relationship with Ford, they took a blue 2005 V6 Mustang and created the first CS6. While planning to produce the CS6 and its bigger version, the Shelby CS8, one thing led to another and they began production of the 2006 Shelby GT-H. The CS6 / CS8 program never got off the ground. Instead, it was offered as a kit and as separate parts. The kit included front and rear fascia, side scoops, upper and lower grille, Paxton supercharger, racing suspension, and various other items.
History of this particular CS8
The base car, a 2006 Ford Mustang GT AUTOMATIC purchased in June 2006. This car was built as the prototype CS8 and carries the Prototype dash plaque. Hillbank was one of the first dealers to be appointed by Shelby to carry the CS6 and CS8 parts. This CS8 was sold by Hillbank and enjoyed by the owner and now it's your turn to own and enjoy this piece of Shelby history.
The Shelby CS8 has been fitted with, big 14 "Shelby brakes, Shelby suspension, a Shelby exhaust system, Shelby Badges and Shelby custom interior including suede seats, a suede hood lining and dash and door panels. it produced 500HP The Engine was strengthened with a new short block that was professionally built with forged internals, for the intentional use of a Supercharger application. It utilizes a brand new block with forged components and was built with dished pistons to provide a lowered compression ratio of 8.5: 1. This CS8 has been fitted with Shelby appearance package which includes a hood, front fascia, grille, side scoop decals.
