I bought the Nissan as a project to do up and use. Since then we have decided to retire and relocate abroad, so the car is no longer needed.
The good stuff: New battery, new tyre x 1, the others have plenty of tread. New washer pump, new thermostat, water pump and two new interior door handles. The turbo cartridge was also replaced. The head gasket had gone, so it has had the head skimmed and the valve seats and valves reground by an engineering firm. The car starts first time.
I took the car for an mot to see what else was needed and it failed on the following:
The front prop shaft has excessive wear in the universal joint. It needs replacing rather than a new joint as there is excessive play and not sure the prop shaft is salvageable.
Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint N/S/F excessively worn.
NSF track rod ball joint excessively worn
NSF Wheel bearing excessive play and rough
The power steering pump is noisy and will need replacing.
In addition to the above, the particulate warning light is on and when driving it is in limp mode.
The Pathfinder is otherwise in good condition and the above are fairly easy to repair.
